Taylor Takes the Lead Today

Tyrod Taylor is back as Texans starting quarterback in a game and place where there is a lot of talk about quarterbacks.

The Dolphins gave up Leremy Tunsil to the Texans in 2019, and the offensive tackle cost the Texans several draft picks. Tunsil is on the injured reserve list with a thumb injury.

Houston Head Coach David Culley announced the decision Friday that Taylor has fully recovered from a hamstring injury and would suit up to the lead against the Dolphins.

The quarterback hasn't played since the second week of the NFL season. Tyrod Taylor signed a one-year contract with the Texans in March of 2021, reuniting with Coach Culley for whom he had played with the Bills.

Looming over all of the game will be the shadow of Texan quarterback Deshaun Watson who is dealing with hard times. The Dolphins have expressed interest in acquiring the legally-challenged, well-massaged Watson.

Kick off is at noon at Hard Rock Stadium.
