Mattress Mack bets big on Astros, calls in 'Rally Nuns' for divine help

There may be no greater fan of the Houston Astros than Jim "Mattress Mack" McIngvale.

McIngvale has purchased 55 tickets for Game 1 of the Astros-Braves World Series for nuns from the Dominican Sisters of Mary Immaculate Province.

The Astros are 2-0 in playoff games when McIngvale brings nuns to the game, and he hopes to extend the streak

One of the nuns, Sister Mary Catherine, got to throw out the ceremonial first pitch at Friday's final ALCS game and followed up by pointing to her wrist as in Carlos Correa's signature "It's time" move.

Meanwhile, McIngvale has bet $3.25 million on the Astros to win the World Series at various sportsbooks. If the team succeeds, McIngvale is in line for an estimated payout of more than $35 million.

McIngvale bets big on the Astros to help offset the cost of a Gallery Furniture promotion that he estimates would cost him $20 million. He's promissed full rebates on months of mattress sales if the Astros "win it all."
