A 28-year-old MS-13 leader will serve life in prison without parole for capital murder.
Harris County D-A Kim Ogg announced the sentence this past Thursday.
Omar Torres was in the Harris County Jail in 2016 when he ordered gang members to kill 16-year-old Estuar Quinonez.
The teen was a witness who had implicated Torres in the shooting death of a rival gang member four-months earlier.
Acting on orders from Torres in jail, gang members killed Quinonez at Buffalo Run Park in Missouri City in June 2016.
