You may have heard about the $3.5 trillion dollar infrastructure package working through congress.
But you might not have heard $66 million of that goes to Amtrak, who says expanding passenger rail service in the Texas Triangle is a top priority, adding new services connecting San Antonio, Houston and Dallas.
Amtrak also wants to update the Texas Eagle service from San Antonio to Chicago.
Amtrak CEO William Flynn says service today still looks much like it did in 1971.
