U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said the House will take action to counter a pro-life law recently passed in Texas.
Pelosi says House members will vote on a reproductive rights bill when they reconvene in the nation's capital this month. The House will be back in session Monday.
The proposed Women's Health Protection Act of 2021 has been introduced every year since 2013.
There are identical versions in the House and Senate.
The bill is expected to narrowly pass the House of Representatives, but it faces an uphill battle in the Senate.
