Tropical Storm Nicholas leaves hundreds of thousands in the dark

It has weakened into a Tropical Storm, but Nicholas made landfall late last night near Sargent Beach, Texas as a Category One Hurricane.

A Flash Flood Warning is in effect until 9 a.m. for northeastern Brazoria County, southwestern Chambers County, Galveston County and Harris County. Meanwhile, hundreds of thousands of customers are without electricity in southeast Texas.

Power outages have been the biggest issue with the storm, with more than 440-thousand in the dark as of 8am this morning.

Both airports are open this morning. But they tell KTRH to check with your carrier before you leave for the airport.

You can keep up with the latest closings around the area, HERE.
