A new wastewater sampling shows the Delta variant of the coronavirus is spreading throughout Houston.
The latest data released this week shows the more contagious strain has been detected in five times as many facilities as it was at the start of May.
Test results show the Delta variant was found in 15 of the city's 39 wastewater treatment plants.
As presence of the Delta variant increases, officials say the UK Variant that was showing up more earlier this year is diminishing.
