The India Variant of Covid 19 is Found in Houston

Researchers at the University of Texas Medical Branch say they're discovered a couple of cases of the India variant of the coronavirus in the Houston area.

At least two patients with the highly contagious strain are at UTMB, and doctors say they may be many more around town.

Dr. Janak Patel, director of healthcare epidemiology and infection control at UTMB, says the Indian variant is the most contagious strain in the world right now, and is killing thousands in South Asia.

No information was released about the two patients.
