Rudy Enters the Hall

Rudolph Tomjanovich Jr. was a Houston icon for years and is now OFFICIALLY in the Naismith Hall of Fame. He is a member of the Class of 2020 - but there was not induction ceremony last year because of the Covid-19 lockdown.

He was a star forward from 1970 to 1981 with San Diego and Houston Rockets. He was an NBA All Star 5 times.

Tomjanovich was head coach of the Rockets from 1992 to 2003. He is most easily remembered for coaching both the 1994 and 1995 NBA championships where he declared to the press and crowds, "Never underestimate the Heart of a Champion!" He also coached TEAM USA in the 2000 summer Olympics leading them to Gold.

Tomjanovich is currently consulting the Minnesota Timberwolves.
