It's almost summer - have you booked your vacation rental?

If you want to put your feet in the ocean or enjoy a cabin by the lake this summer - hop to it! Jason Keeling of Ryson Vacation Rentals says their reservations are filling up! "We're ending up having a record-breaking year. We had a record-breaking year last year as well. We had a 30% increase last year and we're predicting this year will be above that!" Keeling says to book with the property owner or management company as third party sites charge more, houses fill up faster than condos and be flexible. "Book early if you want to go somewhere this summer. During the week occasionally you can get a significant break on the rate. May up to a 25% off rate."

Last year people flocked to beach front getaways during the pandemic, and Keeling of says the demand is already high. His Galveston rental properties are filling up. "The houses book earlier and that would have the higher occupancy. Condos we still have pretty good availability on. A lot of the weekends are booked up." Keeling says you'll find more openings during the week, and the price could be a bit lower, too. Here's another tip: "Book direct with the property owner or the property management company. If you go online and book through a 3rd-party vendor, they will charge at least 10% more."

The demand is increasing every day. He says reservations will be tight till after Labor Day.
