Coogs Win and Baylor’s Back

Second-seeded Houston is headed back to the Elite Eight for the first time since 1984 when Hakeem Olajuwon was suiting up for the Cougars. They beat 11th-seeded Syracuse 62-46 in the Sweet 16 at the NCAA Tournament in Indianapolis Saturday night.

Houston will face off against Oregon State at 6:15 Monday night with a trip to the Final Four on the line. You can hear all the action live on AM 950 KPRC. Quentin Grimes had 14 points in the win.

Number-one-seeded Baylor outscored fifth-seeded Villanova by 18 in the second half to storm back and win 62-51 in the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament. They go back to the Elite 8 for the first time since 2012. The Bears will face Arkansas in the late game Monday night at 8:57. Adam Flagler scored 16 points off the bench for Baylor to lead the way while Davion Mitchell had 14.

Houston treasure “Mattress Mack,” Jim McIngvale, owner of Gallery Furniture, place a $1,000,000 bet with Draft Kings for the Cougars to win the national championship at 9 to 1 odds.
