Texas Republicans call it election integrity; Dems say it's "suppression"

Texas Republicans in Austin are trying to fight voter fraud and preserve election integrity. Texas Democrats are doing something very different.

There are two bills in the pipeline in Austin aimed at stopping potential voter fraud; bills that Jared Woodfill with the Conservative Republicans of Texas say everybody should get behind.

"There are protections in that bill that we need. Even Democrats should want them," Woodfill stated.

But don't tell that to Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner. He has claimed it doesn't exist. Woodfill says Turner is just dead wrong.

"Clearly there is voter fraud, and there are officials putting in place rules that don't exist under the state's election code," he explained, adding that former interim County Clerk Chris Hollins changed election law on his own that violated the US Constitution.
