George Observatory is Back Open

The George Observatory has reopened after undergoing renovations for nearly two-years. It opened Friday.

The observatory, located in Brazos Bend State Park in Needville, has been shut down since 2019. Visitors can see a laser tour of the night sky and interact with astronomers. The Houston Museum of Natural Science operates the observatory, which first opened in 1989.

Tickets are ten-dollars per person and must be bought online in advance. Visitors are required to wear masks.
