A Montgomery County deputy is in stable condition and expected to recover after a a shooting in Magnolia last night.
Deputies responded to a domestic disturbance report just before 8 p.m. Thursday in the 22000 block of Allyson Road, where the caller claimed the suspect had fired shots at neighbors.
When deputies arrived, they were fired at by the suspect. One deputy was hit, receiving injuries to his leg, arm and head. Officials believe he was struck by a shotgun loaded with birdshot.
After a standoff for several hours, the Montgomery County Sheriff's Crisis Negotiation Team was able to get the suspect to surrender, the sheriff's office said in a Facebook post.
That suspect has not been identified.
