A weekend long road project is expected to cause major delays near the Galleria this weekend.
TxDOT officials say crews will be working around the US-59/I-610 interchange, tearing down two old ramps.
The Southwest Freeway will be shut down in both directions between the West Loop and South Rice for the entire weekend.
Additionally, work continues on a land bridge at Houston's Memorial Park. The bridge is being built to allow animals to cross Memorial Drive safely. Tunnels under the bridge will allow for vehicle traffic. The project is expected to be wrapped up by the fall 2022.
