The head of the Texas agency regulating the oil and gas industry believes communication could have been better during the recent winter storms.
Texas Railroad Commissioner Christi Craddick told two Texas House committees on Friday she didn't know about the mandated outages until a conversation with the manager of the power grid.
Craddick says the agency stayed in its own lane last week and made sure gas utilities were up.
She also noted the agency is focused on mechanical problems and environmental issues with oil and gas wells, not getting involved in contracts.
Texas legislators have been holding hearings for the last two days regarding the outages which left millions in the dark.
