MONDAY AM: PUC stops disconnections; Boil water notices lifted; ERCOT sued

Texas is still feeling impacts from last week's 1-2 winter weather punch, but things are improving.

Less than 500 customers remain without power according to CenterPoint.

Most of the boil water notices have been lifted. You can see the list HERE.

The Texas PUC has stopped disconnection for people who have been unable to pay their electric bills, and they have also put a stop to some of the outrageous bills that we have heard about (inclduing one for $17K).

Attorney General Ken Paxton has issued Civil Investigative Demands to ERCOT and other energy companies.

Some school districts are reopening today. You can see the entire list HERE.

The death toll is unclear, but we know of at least 24 in Harris County. ERCOT has been sued for $100M by the family of an 11 year old Conroe boy that died last week. That family is being represented by former Houston Mayoral candidate Tony Buzbee.
