The Republican Bench: Advantages And Good News For The GOP

Stealing a line from the Grateful Dead, "what a long strange trip it's been." With today the final day in office for President Trump, here's a little shot of optimism for concerned conservatives. Despite what appears to be at the moment the democrat dominance, Republicans are still in great shape at the state and local levels, and especially here in Texas. Republican strategist Matt Mackowiak told KTRH, "The Republican party down ballot is in a stronger position now, than it was before the 2020 election." And why is that? Because the GOP got it done on the lower levels, Republican led state legislature bodies are going to draw new redistricting lines, so you're going to see the benefit of that now, and looking ahead to 2022. History has proven that the party that is not in the white house, usually wins big 2 years later. And even there has been speculation about the Republican party moving forward, and the future of Donald Trump, Mackowiak believes the GOP has a really strong group across the board. Governors, Congress, the Senate, maybe even one of Trump's kids. As for 2024? "The expectation is that Biden won't run again, and that it will be Kamala Harris, and I think the Republicans will view that as a very winnable election. It's going to be a fascination 4 years for the Republican party." And it starts tomorrow.
