Three Indicted in Houston for Election Fraud

Three people are under indictment in Southeast Texas on claims they tried to manipulate two state House elections. Harris County District Attorney Kim Ogg says Democrat political consultant Damien Jones sent an anonymous text message to an incumbent trying to get her to not file for re-election in House District 132. The threat was instead reported to the Texas Rangers. A grand jury also indicted House District 142 candidate Richard Bonton and a woman named Natasha Demming on claims they conspired together against another candidate. Demming is accused of filing candidate paperwork under a false name in hopes of diluting the vote by appealing to the district's growing Hispanic population. All three suspects could get a year in jail.
