Houston Area Hospitals will be on the receiving end of tens of thousand doses of the Covid-19 Vaccine, this according to state health authorities. Texas Governor Greg Abbott says the entire state will accept about 1.4 million doses, “As expected, the initial vaccine supply is limited, and the first week’s allocation is based on information submitted by vaccine providers when they enrolled, including the number of health care workers who can be quickly vaccinated and vaccine storage capacity at each site,” The Texas Department of State Health Services website says, “More vaccine will be available for more providers in the following weeks, including vaccine from Moderna once it is authorized.” Abbott says more are expected in January, 2021. The first group of vaccines will be given to the front-line medical professionals, including those who answer 911 calls. These are the hospitals that will receive the first shipment:
