Too Bad No One is Driving: Gas is Cheap

Over the river and through the woods perhaps, but probably not going to grandmother's house this Thanksgiving, and that's a shame because the cost till fill the tank isn't early as bad as it was last year, months before coronavirus emerged on our shores.

The Triple-A Texas Weekend Gas Watch says the statewide average gas price in Texas is $1.80 a gallon for regular unleaded. That price is down one-cent from a week ago, and is 44-cents less than a year ago.

The national average is $2.12.

Regional supplies are up, and demand is down as fewer people plan to travel for Thanksgiving next week because of the pandemic.

The average price at the pump in Houston is $1.77.
