One of the great treasures of Houston is about to shutter for good.
We've lost so many business this year to covid and add to the list the 47-year-old River Oaks Bookstore -- closing for keeps at the end of this year.
The Census Bureau says bookstores nationwide suffered a 65-percent decline in sales in April of this year compared to a year earlier, as people shopped for books online to be safe.
The River Oaks Bookstore offered delivery services and curbside pickup, but it wasn't enough for a happy ending to the story.
