Election 2020: Straight Ticket Voting

With the election now less than a week away, it's not surprising to learn that large shares of voters are planning a 'straight ticket' vote for the President, Senate, and Congress. Political strategist Jessica Colon tells KTRH, "It really isn't surprising. The ideologies on the ballot this cycle have never been more disperate, and Americans are choosing the path that they want America to move down". And it reconfirms that non-partisanship is all but gone. However, in a bit of a surprise, a recent poll shows that there are 4% of voters who will actually vote from Trump or Biden, and a candidate from the other party. Colon adds "there are certain races where people tend to crossover more frequently, and we've seen that in Harris County most notably in D.A. and Sherriff races". About 8 in 10 voters say they will vote either Republican or Democrat.
