Bars in Some Texas Counties Can Reopen This Wednesday

Texas bars will be allowed to reopen beginning this coming Wednesday, pending approval of each county's respective judge.

This past week Governor Greg Abbott announced the reopening plan, saying bars may only operate at fifty-percent capacity and customers must remain seated while eating and drinking.

However, Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo says more reopenings won't be happening in the area until COVID-19 is under control.

Montgomery County has a lower case count and will allow bars to reopen.

Also, Abbott says other businesses can increase to 75-percent capacity in counties where coronavirus hospitalizations are less than 15-percent of hospital capacity.
