Two new polls indicate Republican U.S. Senator John Cornyn is still leading his Democratic challenger M.J. Hegar ahead of the November election.
The Quinnipiac University poll released Thursday shows three-term incumbent Cornyn leads Hegar by 50-percent to 42-percent among likely voters in Texas.
The New York Times-Sienna College poll has Cornyn ahead 43-percent to 37-percent.
Both polls also show President Donald Trump leading the Democratic candidate Joe Biden in Texas.
