Beginning today, the state, the city, the Astros organization and Minute Maid Park are combining forces to provide up to 2,000 free tests every day, 7 days a week, from 8 in the morning to 4 in the afternoon. These are mouth swab tests.
They'll have eight drive thru lanes in addition to four walk up lanes. They'll have Spanish speaking staff on site.
You do need an appointment, made through a state site. texas.curativeinc.com.
No healthcare provider is required to administer the test.
“The State of Texas continues to work diligently to increase access to testing in communities that need it most,” Governor Abbott says. “We are proud to partner with the Houston Astros to provide more testing in the city of Houston.”
