Five Texas state legislators are suing Gov. Greg Abbott over a coronavirus contact tracing contract.
Texas Legal Institute filed the suit in Travis County on Wednesday, claiming Abbott violated the Texas Constitution over the contract to MTX Group.
Abbott is also accused of violating competitive bidding laws for the 295-million-dollar contract.
The five state legislators are among the most conservative Republicans in the Texas legislature, who are angry with Abbott for his mandates related to Covid 19.
The attorney in the case is the same who handled Dallas hairdresser Shelly Luther's case. Frisco-based MTX Group won the contract in May over larger companies like IBM, Accenture, and AT&T Global Business Services.
