Religious Private Schools Exempt from Health Order

Texas religious private schools are exempt from following the state health order.

Attorney General Ken Paxton said in an open letter late last week that forcing them to comply violates both the U.S. and state constitution.

Texas has a Religious Freedom Restoration Act which prevents the government from restricting religious practices.

Religious private schools can now make their own determination as to whether to resume in-person instruction.
