Tuesday Roundup: GOP goes online; Fort Bend ISD starts 100% remotely

In the end, the courts said no, and the Texas Republican Party had no other choice but to finally give up their fight.

The Texas Supreme Court refused to force the city of Houston into allowing the party to hold their convention at the George R. Brown center after it was cancelled abruptly over COVID-19 fears last week. A Harris County District Court also ruled against the party. So, after a 53 to 4 vote, the party will hold their convention virtually. The convention will begin later this week.

Elsewhere, with schools starting back up next month, the Fort Bend ISD has announced that the entire district will start the academic year online. And while this period of online learning continues there will be no in person extra-curricular activities.

The Conroe ISD will also get underway on the 12th, and they will be offering both traditional and virtual learning.
