The State Fair of Texas Board decides today (7-7-2020) the fair announced that its 2020 installment would not take place, due to the surge in Coronavirus cases in North Texas. Board Chair Gina Norris admitted that no one knows what the state will look like in September, but says, "here is no feasible way for the Fair to put proper precautions in place while maintaining the Fair environment you know and love... The safest and most responsible decision we could make for all involved at this point in our 134-year history is to take a hiatus for the 2020 season."
