Astros resume summer training today; season to start later this month

The Astros take another step towards starting the 2020 season when they report for summer training today.

The players are scheduled to report for the start of what amounts to summer training at Minute Maid Park. The season has been shortened because of COVID-19. The sixty game season will get going later this month. New General Manager James Click told Sean Salisbury on Sports Talk 790 that instead of the season being a marathon, it's a full out sprint.

"There's an increased sense of urgency. We have to prioritize every game. Sometimes you take a longer view of things," he said.

Most of the team will train at Minute Maid Park. Some players will train at the University of Houston.
