Black Rice Student Facebook Post Demands Black-Only Space

A Rice University student group is calling for the school to fund a "non-residential Black House" on campus, along with other demands.

A public Facebook post on Rice's official Graduate Student Association page is the source of the call for a "Black House."

The post also demanded more black professors, faculty, counselors and therapists, as well as enrollment of more black students.

It calls for "hate speech" to be included in Rice's code of conduct, and for the removal of the prominent statue of university founder William Marsh Rice.
