Democrats resist re-opening; November election, not safety, is the end game

Blue states are not opening up their economies as fast as other states are. Democrats have an agenda, but they are also finding resistance to keeping things locked down.

KTRH's Rush Limbaugh says the resistance to re-opening is motivated by November's election.

"They shut down and lock down, and they want to remain locked down until July or August or whatever — and nothing’s gonna open and nothing is gonna happen. And they fully expect the red states to sit there and essentially pay for it. Folks, I’m gonna tell you, these next four months are gonna be a veritable war like we have not seen. The American left and the Democrat Party is going to do its best to keep this economy shut down, to extend and expand that shutdown — and blow up their own country’s jobs — just to ensure that Trump loses," Limbaugh explained.

Republican strategist Vlad Davidiuk says the left thinks tanking the economy guarantees them votes.

"They seem to be more interested in keeping the economy shut down; keeping people isolated and in fear in their homes," Davidiuk said.

The problem is they are finding opposition to shutting things down long term.

"I don't think Democrats really counted on the response of the American people across the country. It's not just ruby red states where people are saying they have had enough," Davidiuk explained.

Davidiuk says it's also states like Michigan, where both sides protesters from both sides of the aisle want Governor Gretchen Whitmer to re-open.
