Practice Social Distancing - Even at the Park

Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner says he is leaving the city's 300 parks open, except for playgrounds as well as basketball and volleyball courts. Turner wants you to observe social distancing while you're enjoying the great outdoors (i.e., not inside your home) and stay at least 6 feet away from fellow walkers and runners. The city says it will close them if social distancing measures are ignored.

Before the joint press conference at the new Coronavirus Temporary Medical Facility at NRG, the Mayor visited parks and was happy to see no groups of people clumping close together. His rule for visiting a park, "If it's crowded, go to another park. We have plenty."
