Legal action against Carnival?

Some people aboard Princess Cruise Ships that were stricken with Covid-19 are planning legal action against Carnival. Experts and attorneys say they will face an uphill battle against the restrictive terms of service buried in passengers’ paperwork and maritime laws that predate the sinking of the Titanic. Shayla Northcutt of Northcutt Travel says those who had purchased Travel Insurance before approaching the gang plank are certainly faring better. "It depends on what level of coverage they had. There are different coverage levels of travel insurance. We always recommend the highest level of policy because you never know what's going to happen. And Covid-19 outbreak proves it."

Northcutt adds, "Travel insurance companies didn't have 'Covid-19' written into their policies. So they are having to re-write their policies and create new things as they go along." Maritime experts are skeptical about the success of the lawsuits. No matter how they fare, you can bet cruise prices are getting more and more affordable and travel insurance prices may be going up.
