For now, Harris County remains open.
There had been speculation that Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo would make the same decision that was made in Dallas County last night to shelter in place. Earlier this morning Hidalgo said she's not willing to go there, yet.
"We are working on the next step for our community. We are doing our due diligence today throughout the day," Hidalgo explained. "It may be that we issue a stay at home order. We will make ann announcement as soon as we are done running things down."
Hidalgo said there is good news on the testing front. They have gotten the equipment they need, and any county resident who wants to be tested for COID-19 can be tested. Two new sites have opened up for testing.
