Harris County reports 19th positive COVID-19 case

The number of Harris County residents that have tested positive for COVID-19 is rising.

Officials with the county this morning announced the new patient is a man between the ages of 40 and 50. County Judge Lina Hidalgo says her message remains the same; stay home.

"The rates are increasing. This is here right now. We have got to double down and do our part," Hidalgo said. "We're in a critical window of opportunity where we can either contribute to the spread of this virus or we can help stop it in its tracks."

Today's new positive case brings the number of patients in the Houston area to 63. Hidalgo also announced that eviction hearings in Harris County have been suspended for the time being because of the outbreak.
