Governor Abbott Says States Ready to Test Coronavirus

Gov. Greg Abbott says a number of state and local health labs across Texas are now equipped to test patients for coronavirus.

Speaking at an office of the Department of State Health Services on Thursday, Abbott said the Laboratory Response Network will be able to test more than 125 cases a day.

The facilities are in Houston, Austin, San Antonio, Fort Worth, Dallas, Lubbock, Tyler, El Paso, Corpus Christi and Harlingen.

Abbott left it up to local officials to decide whether to proceed with big public events such as the Houston Rodeo.
