The Harris County Health System has issued a warning to nearly 1200 patients who visited the Gulfgate Health Center between December 9 and 27, 2019. On December 30, 2019, two envelopes containing patient information were lost while in transport to Ben Taub Hospital for electronic record-keeping. Health System officials believe the breach only affects about 25 patients, They're not sure, however, which patients they are. Health Center officials have also seen to evidence that any of the data has been stolen or used, but are asking those people under the warning to monitor their accounts and activity.
The patient information includes names, social security numbers, birth dates, addresses, phone numbers and medical information.
