Texas at Forefront of Coronavirus Research

A medical team in Houston is working to develop two different vaccines for the coronavirus.

The group of doctors and researchers at the Baylor College of Medicine have a head start because they worked years ago to create a vaccine for the SARS virus, which is similar to the deadly current virus.

A vaccine building on the SARS research should be ready in about a year-and-a-half.

The team is working to create another coronavirus vaccine from scratch, which is expected to take three to four years.
