The term “road rage” was coined in L.A. in 1988 but didn’t enter the popular lexicon until the mid 90’s.You have probably seen it or have maybe even been a victim of road rage, someone flipping the bird or possibly becoming violent.

A survey by The Zebra finds almost 40% of men and 30% of women say it’s happened to them. Showing someone a middle finger is something 38% of Americans admit to doing.

Since 2013 road rage has led to at least 300 fatalities.

Young people are most commonly the culprits, females under 34 saying they’ve had feelings of road rage more than four times a week.

Men do it even more often.

Only one in five Americans are aware that acts of road rage are a criminal offense.
