Personality trumps policy when it comes to who we vote for

The Democrats will try to run on policy as they try to beat Donald Trump in the 2020 election. But history shows that policy may not matter.

This isn't rhetoric, it's fact. Merrick Rosenberg with Take Flight Learning says his research says there are more important things than policy.

"History has shown is that it is based on the personality of the candidate. In fact it's been consistent for 84 years that we are voting for personality," Rosenberg said.

Rosenberg says President Trump has an 'eagle' personality; someone who is direct and driven. Those personalities are the ones that win. Does any Democrat have it?

"Somebody like Biden or Sanders could do it. As for Warren and Buttigieg; their personalities are just not going to make it," Rosenberg explained.

But while Biden and Bernie have those traits, Rosenberg says Trump has dialed up his energy and assertiveness, which gives him an edge.
