It's late February, and around Houston that means we are just days away from the Houston Livestock Show &Rodeo World's Championship Bar-B-Que Contest.
In fact, it's coming up on the 27th, one week from tomorrow. David Stone with the contest joined Jimmy Barrett and Shara Fryer on Houston's Morning News, and told us the field this year is literally in the hundreds.
"We're going to have 254 teams this year; We've got two coming from Australia, two from Great Britain/ We've got Sweden, Canada, Mexico and Brazil," Stone said.
And a first, with juniors being allowed to participate.
"It's open for ages 8 to 14, and we allowed cook teams to sponsor someone from their team and put them into the contest.
The contest runs from the 27th through the 29th, and the rodeo opens up on March 3rd.
