"This little guy never had a chance" was the tweet from Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzales.
The two-year-old boy who was so abused allegedly by his uncle, finally died Sunday afternoon (2-2-2020) in a Houston hospital. His name was Kevin and according to court testimony his injuries caused his brain to swell and fracture bones. Prosecutors said his uncle, Melvin Morales-Gomez, squeezed and bit the little boy. Morales-Gomez is still in jail on a $500,000 bond.
Kevin and his uncle were living in an apartment in northwest Harris County along with Kevin’s eight-year-old brother, who is now in CPS custody. Morales-Gomez’s charges will likely be upgraded.
