NASA Intern Discovers New Planet

A NASA intern is receiving credit for finding a new planet.

17 year old Wolf Cukier of New York found a darkness which orbited two stars while he was looking at star brightness data.

What Cukier found back in July at the Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Maryland, is a circumbinary planet that's almost seven times bigger than Earth. NASA says those kind of planets are hard to find.

Cukier plans to continue research into astronomy and eclipsing binaries, and hopes to stay in touch with his mentors at NASA.
