Port Of Galveston Signs Contract For New Terminal

The Port of Galveston is partnering with Royal Caribbean for a new 165-million dollar cruise terminal.

It's expected to be finished by November of 2021, and will welcome one of the largest cruise ships in the world, Royal's Allure of the Seas. It weighs more than 225,000 tons and is one of the biggest cruise liners in the world. The Allure is 18 decks high and houses more than 65 hundred guests.

Port Director Rodger Rees says the partnership will generate new jobs and more visitors to the island.

The new 170-thousand square foot terminal will stretch across ten acres of land.
