When the Houston World Series of Dog Shows comes to NRG Center this July expect to see some new breeds.
American Kennel Club announced this week that two dog breeds have earned full recognition as of January 1st.
The purebred dog registry says they are the barbet [[ pronounced: bar-BAY ]] and dogo Argentino.
The curly-coated barbet comes from France and is described as being playful, loving, loyal, and smart.
The AKC says dogos are bred to chase and catch big game like wild boar and puma. That's a dogo pictured below.
The breed is also known for its confidence and being courageous.
You may see them on parade through NRG July 17 through the 21st.
