U.S. Sees Domestic Terrorism

Less than a week ago a church in Texas was the scene of a shooter killing 2 members of the congregation; five people in New York were stabbed by an intruder while attending a Hanukkah celebration in the home of their Rabbi. How is this affecting Jews in the Houston area?. Mark Toubin, Southwest Regional Director for the Anti-Defamation League, says, "An attack against any Jew is an attack against us all. It's an act of domestic terrorism which seeks to make all of us live in fear." Toubin also says most Houston area institutions already have well established security protocols in place.

Toubin adds, "When they're doing it strictly because of people's religious beliefs, it undermines not only what we stand for as Jews - but everything all of us stand for in this country." He also comments that Texas has seen a decline in antisemitism in the last year - unlike other parts of the country.
