Suspected Christmas Eve Shooter Shot and Killed

The suspect in the Christmas Eve shooting is killed in a deputy-involved shooting near Hermann Park

Saturday afternoon a Harris County Sheriff’s Office deputy shot and killed Albert Benjamin Simon, the man who is accused of killing his ex-girlfriend on Christmas Even, just a few days ago. The action took place near Hermann Park. Deputies were tracking down leads in order to find Simon and happened upon him near the park. He was sitting on a bench near the Teahouse Garden. The deputies, with arms displayed, approached Simon in order to apprehend him. That's when Simon shouted "shoot me, shoot me.” The he reached for something in in back pack and one deputy opened fire and shot him at least twice.

Simon was taken to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later. The Houston Police Department is in charge of investigating the deputy-involved shooting. No one else was injured in the shooting.
