The Creastors are coming to your church for Christmas Eve. These are the people who attend church only on Christmas and Easter. Pastor Tim Niekerk of Salem Lutheran Church in Tomball says he's glad to see them. “The whole reason why we celebrate this time of year is that in a broken and fallen world, what people are looking for is hope and peace." He laughs about one church's idea of selling semi-annual church admission with special seating for those who only come twice a year. “We can laugh a little about it, but we would never do that in a million years. We lobe people and we want them to be there!”
He says his church is going all out for their upcoming services and one reason is to make the occasional attendee so happy to be there they will try it again. "i would just like people who after their experience with us at Christmas would be so challenged that they would say, 'I think I'll come back and see what they do every week."
He says like his, many churches have multiple Christmas Eve Services to accommodate the Creasters as well as visiting family and friends. Pastor Niekerk feels strongly that people are looking for some peace and hope in their lives - and church is a great place to find it now and throughout the year.
